Red Bull Wings Cup Australia Is Open, And PAX Has Two Wildcards

The Australian Red Bull Wings Cup is under way on PlayStation, with EA SPORTS FC 27 as the game. If you would rather skip the online grind, PAX Aus in Melbourne has two wildcard spots for the National Final.

The Red Bull Wings Cup Australia opened on 28 September. Red Bull’s event page lists it as running until 15 November, and the game is EA SPORTS FC 27.

There are two ways in. The Open League runs through brackets on PlayStation Tournaments, and Red Bull’s page is where you will find the sign-up details. The University League is for students, with campus qualifiers feeding a National Leaderboard.

PAX Aus gives slightly different dates for the online stage. Its expo floor release says the campaign takes place on PlayStation Tournaments from 28 September to 25 October. So if you are going the online route, do not leave it late.

The other route is in person. At PAX Aus on 10 and 11 October, Red Bull is running the OMODA “Beat the Streak” Wildcard Tournament. PAX calls it the only in-person way to qualify for this year’s national competition.

The format is simple: you play seven-minute sessions of FC 27’s Rush Mode, and the aim is to hold the longest winning streak. There are only two places across the weekend: the Saturday winner and the Sunday winner.

Both go straight to the National Final in Sydney on 5 December. PAX says flights and accommodation are included. From there, PAX describes a potential pathway towards the 2027 World Final in Miami, where Red Bull says players will face physical football challenges as well as matches in the game.
