Final Hero Of The City Never Sleeps Run Joins Deadlock

Valve has released Nurse Harrow in Deadlock, the last hero of the City Never Sleeps update. The announcement went up at 7:59am AEDT on Wednesday 21 October, by our conversion from 20:59 UTC on Tuesday.

Valve’s Steam post says Harrow “now joins us on the streets of Manhattan”. Her practices may seem unorthodox, it says, but her patients at the Marble Hill Possession Ward cannot call them ineffective.

Her kit has four abilities. With Leech Therapy, she throws a jar of leeches that attach to oncoming enemies, drain their health and energy, then crawl back to deliver their haul.

Wretched Vapors possesses her allies with a powerful boost of effectiveness. Valve adds that subjects should be warned of side effects when the vapors wear off.

Healing Needles has her load a syringe to inject medicine into teammates. Lurking Terrors has her open her bag and release what she has captured inside.

Harrow’s arrival, Valve says, ends the City Never Sleeps releases. Valve thanked everyone who took part in the voting.

Valve also published the vote’s statistics. More than 110 million votes were cast. The closest contest was Baba against Solomon, decided by a nearly 0.5 per cent difference.

Only 847 players voted in every round and backed that round’s eventual winner each time. A further 36,236 voted in every round and never once picked the winner.

Another 22,194 players voted only for Harrow, and one of them cast exactly 1,000 votes for her. Valve says her voters had a higher win rate than the voters for every other hero.

Deadlock remains in development. Its Steam page lists the release date as to be announced. On 21 October, Steam’s most-played chart ranked it fifth, unchanged on the week.

We reported on Harrow’s release date earlier in the week.
