The AION 2 team has set out how server transfers work, and you only get one go. Early Access servers move first, and Launch servers follow a week later.

AION 2’s server transfers open after the scheduled maintenance on Tuesday 13 October, Pacific time. The team’s product notice says the transfer period runs until before the maintenance on Tuesday 27 October. It does not give a maintenance start time, so watch the in-game notices.

The first week is for Early Access servers only. The second week, from the maintenance on Tuesday 20 October, is for Launch servers only. Early Access characters can only move to other Early Access servers.

You get one transfer per account for the whole period, so pick your destination before you click. There is no limit on how many characters you move in that one transfer. The base cost and the cost per character are both 0 Quna. Each extra character slot you need on the destination server is 1,000 Quna.

Your characters need to meet these conditions, per the notice:

  • Level 10 or higher, and standing in a village.
  • Not in a Legion, and with no pending Legion application.
  • No active Duty Missions.
  • No unclaimed items, currency or mail, and nothing waiting on the Market.

Transfers stay within the same faction and the same region. They also fail if the server you are leaving or the one you are joining has hit its transfer limit. The Q&A notice says that applies even if you already have a character on the destination server.

Move your Server Storage items into your inventory or Character Storage first, because Server Storage does not transfer. Your Kina in the inventory and Character Storage does. Your character will be renamed @TemporaryName and you pick a new name on first login. Your Friends and Blocked lists stay.

Purchase hours depend on your region. The post lists five regions: North America East, North America West, Europe, South America and Asia. It does not say which one Oceania players belong to, and we wrote at launch that AION 2 has no Oceania region. If you play on an Asia server, the daily windows work out to 2pm to 6pm and 8pm to midnight AEDT.

We covered the launch and the Founder’s Pack fix earlier this week, and the AION 2 Steam page has the game.
