JanduSoft Announces A First-Person Take On The Minotaur Myth
Ariadne’s Tale has its announcement trailer. PlayStation posted it to YouTube on 25 September, and the game is coming to PS5 and PC.
The game is a first-person puzzle adventure developed and published by JanduSoft. The trailer’s description calls it a take on the classic myth “with wit and dark humour”.
Players take the role of Ariadne, who carries “a magical thread that guides your path and serves as a tool to fix routes, anchor points and activate mechanisms”. The goal, in the description’s words, is to “find and rescue Theseus… before the threads of fate are cut.”
The thread is the core mechanic. It can be tensioned, anchored and used to trigger mechanisms and open paths, and it doubles as a way to stay oriented in the maze.
The Labyrinth itself is a 3D first-person world of winding passages and hidden chambers, with deadly traps to avoid. The description says “Each chamber is a test of observation and creativity”, combining puzzle solving, object manipulation and lateral thinking.
The puzzles range “from ancient machinery to precision puzzles and rhythmic sequences”. The Labyrinth’s beast is avoided rather than fought, using distractions and hiding in amphorae.
The tone leans on satire. An architect guides the player “(and nags)” through a magical conch, and the description promises “sharp dialogue and mythic characters”. The PlayStation Store listing sums the game up as “The tale of the Minotaur as you’ve never heard it before.”
No release date has been announced. The Steam page lists Q4 2026, and the Australian PlayStation Store lists it as coming soon, with the release date “to be determined”.
A free demo of Ariadne’s Tale is already out on Steam. It was released on 25 September, the same day as the trailer.
Neither store lists a price yet.
