Three days in, Pacific has one win from three opening matches at VALORANT Champions Shanghai. Paper Rex beat Team Liquid, while NONGSHIM REDFORCE and GLOBAL ESPORTS now play to stay alive, and T1 opens tonight.
Here is where our region stands. Champions Shanghai started on 24 September, and every group has one team from each of Americas, CN, EMEA and Pacific. All matches are best-of-three. Lose two and you’re out, according to Riot’s Everything You Need To Know guide.
These are the six opening results, from Riot’s official schedule.
24 September. Paper Rex beat Team Liquid 2–1 in the opening match, and G2 Esports then beat TYLOO GAMING 2–0.
25 September. NRG beat NONGSHIM REDFORCE 2–0, and Karmine Corp beat Xi Lai Gaming 2–0 in the late match.
26 September. Team Vitality beat GLOBAL ESPORTS 2–1 in a full three-map series, and LOUD beat EDWARD Gaming 2–0.
So Paper Rex go to the winners’ match, while the other two Pacific teams are one loss from going home. Riot’s schedule data does not list map names or round scores, so we have left them out.

T1 play 100 Thieves tonight, Sunday 27 September, at 7pm, and JD GAMING and FUT Esports follow at 10pm. Monday is a dark day with no matches, so use it to catch up on the VODs.
Paper Rex play G2 Esports in the winners’ match on Tuesday 29 September at 7pm. NONGSHIM REDFORCE face Xi Lai Gaming on Thursday 1 October at 10pm, and GLOBAL ESPORTS face EDWARD Gaming on Friday 2 October at 7pm, with both Pacific teams needing a win to stay in. The Groups Stage ends on 4 October.
Watching live earns you something too. Riot’s Watch and Earn page says 30 minutes of the Groups or Playoffs broadcast unlocks the “Prepared” title as a Drop. Playoffs Pick’Ems open on 4 October once the Draw Show is done, so get your picks in before the Playoffs start on 7 October.
