semiwork has released R.E.P.O. v0.5.0, The Sunstone Update, which its patch notes call the game’s fourth major update.
The v0.5.0 patch notes went up on Steam at 12:06am AEDT today, by our conversion, with the launch trailer from semiwork’s own channel.
The headline addition is a new level, Sunstone Valley Resort, along with a new enemy, the Pony.
The update also adds gamepad support, localisation in 21 languages and 10 new cosmetics.
Four existing levels gain rooms: five in Headman Manor, four in Swiftbroom Academy, four in the Museum of Human Art and five in McJannek Station. Three new items arrive, the Human Gun, the Human Adventure Cable and the Recharge Orb.

The shop changes as well. The Shopkeeper now reacts when you hold up an item, with a chance of a discount or of the item being destroyed.
The notes describe the movement and loading changes, and one balance fix aimed at stalled runs, in these terms:
Tumble Climb – Reworked climbing and swinging with smoother camera follow. Loading – Reduced freezes when loading levels, now allowing continuous microphone input between levels. Valuable Soft Lock – If there aren’t enough valuables left in the level to complete extraction, new smaller valuables will now spawn a short distance away from players.
Among the fixes, Player Health Sharing no longer takes 10 HP when the target needed less, and save files should no longer corrupt when the game is opened multiple times at once.
The game sat 30th on Steam’s most-played chart this afternoon, up from 58th a week earlier.
The Australian Steam store lists it at A$9.71, 35% off its A$14.95 price, with semiwork as both developer and publisher.
