Freshly Baked Games Thanks 100,000 Buyers

Queen’s Domain has sold 100,000 copies, according to its developer, five days after it launched on Steam.

Freshly Baked Games posted the figure in a Steam announcement thanking players, which went up at 3:13am AEDT on Thursday 5 November, by our conversion.

The studio describes itself in the post as “just a two person dev team”, and writes that “seeing this number after only 5 days is beyond anything we could have imagined”. It calls the milestone one of a number of “pinch me moments” since launch.

The same post says the game has passed 1,500 Steam reviews with a 95% positive rating. That figure is the studio’s own, and it is the only rating reported here.

Queen’s Domain is a retro-fantasy action RPG set on the Isle of Neasied, where the player washes up and goes looking for a missing father. The Steam page lists more than 50 melee weapons, over 20 types of throwing weapons and more than 100 enemies, mini bosses and bosses, along with a Holy Sword Endu that lets the player fly between platforms.

It came out on Steam at 3:57am AEDT on Saturday 31 October, and the launch was reported here that weekend.

The studio says it is still patching. Its patch list on Steam runs from version 1.01.01 to 1.01.03 in its first two days, and the new post says fixes will keep coming “as they come in”.

On the Australian Steam store the game is still A$24.05, with 15% off its A$28.30 price. It was tenth on Steam’s Australian top sellers when the chart was read early this morning, and second on the specials list.

Steam names Freshly Baked Games as the developer and Future Friends Games as the publisher. The PC release is listed for Windows only.

The studio closes its post by thanking the game’s community once more for its support, and by pointing players to the patch notes on its Steam page for the fixes still to come.
