DragDrop Games says Moon Sweepers — its co-op game about cleaning the Moon, which starts you off with a toothbrush — has reached 600,000 players one week after launch, with a peak of 70,000 concurrent players.
The figures come from the studio’s own milestone post on Steam, published at 1am AEDT on Saturday 31 October by our conversion. They are the studio’s numbers, and GC has not verified them independently. The post says the team “never imagined that our little game about cleaning the Moon with a toothbrush would reach this many players around the world.”
That is a fast turnaround for a game whose launch week opened with an apology. DragDrop Games — two developers self-publishing the game — said sorry for a rough start on 24 October and shipped patches 1.0.3 and 1.0.4 within two days.

The bigger news in the post is what comes next. Moon Sweepers 1.1 is planned for December 2026, and the studio calls it its “first major content update” and “our biggest update yet”.
The sneak peek lists new production machines and production chains for the factory system, new materials and products, more tools and upgrades, better automation, better buildings, expanded progression and performance work for larger bases. The studio says it is especially focused on making the late game more rewarding, and that everything listed is still in development and may change.
It also teases what happens once the Moon is clean. The answer, according to the post, is “Spoiler alert: More work.” — the team says cleaning the Moon “might only be the beginning of your career”, without saying more.

Moon Sweepers supports up to 16 players, according to its Steam store page, which lists DragDrop Games as both developer and publisher. It is A$12.75 on the Australian store; a 15% launch discount, to A$10.83, was still showing when we checked early this morning. It was third on Steam’s Australian top sellers list at the same time.
The studio closes the post with a shout-out to another indie team’s lunar game, Totally Safe Moon Project, and a reminder to its players: “Now get back to sweeping.”
