Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 goes live on 6 November.
Activision set out the season in a PlayStation Blog post by Daniel Noel. The post gives the date but no launch time.
Multiplayer gets three maps at launch: Backstab, Canyon and a reimagined Shoot House.
The post describes them in full:
“Brave inclement weather across the all-new war torn Backstab, where abandoned tanks litter the landscape and drone ordinance line the shelves of a deserted dwelling. Battle amidst towering rock walls in the all-new Canyon and try your luck along the River near the Convoy Ambush or take the Cliff Path for its winding pathways. Drop into a reimagined Shoot House against the rugged terrain of North Korea during a snowfall.”
Grind and Drop Zone are the launch modes.
The Mid-Season adds two more maps, Ministry and Overflow, and a new mode, Counter Attack.
DMZ gets a new location, a weapons facility codenamed X01. The post says the facility starts to close off extraction points, and squads must complete the required steps to escape.
Warzone gets two maps in the Season 1 update, Hajin and Zodiac. Activision says a full Warzone roadmap is still to come.
The Season 1 Battle Pass adds two weapons, the Cronen Osprey Assault Rifle and the CSG-35 SMG.
It holds more than 100 pieces of unlockable content on a linear 100-tier track.
The Battle Pass also gets a new catch-up system. Players who buy the premium Battle Pass and fall behind are automatically caught up to the reward matching the current day of the season, up to day 50.
The post says this “guarantees 50+ rewards for those who purchase it.”
The post gives no prices for the Battle Pass.
