Full Launch List Of Multiplayer Maps And Modes Confirmed For Modern Warfare 4
Activision has published the complete list of launch maps and modes for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 multiplayer. The Steam post went up at 17:06 UTC on 21 October, which is 4:06am AEDT on 22 October by our conversion.
The game launches with 12 core 6v6 maps, three 32v32 Ground War maps and four 2v2 Gunfight maps, according to the post. It also adds Kill Block, a modular battleground that supports 3v3 and 10v10 Gunfight.
The 6v6 maps are Cachette, Coal, Lithium, Lotus, Mumbai, Munition, Nautical, Reactor U92, Rooftops, Sentry, Silkworm and Transit 213.

Shipment returns as a post-launch map. The post says it is “arriving shortly after launch on October 27”.
The Ground War maps are Imjin Farmland, Wolves Stadium and Forest. The first two sit on the outskirts and in the heart of Hajin, and Forest lies between them.
The four Gunfight maps are Cafe, Library, NYC and Smuggler. Kill Block reconfigures between rounds, and the post says it offers “more than 500 combinations”.

More than a dozen modes are listed for launch, in Standard, Alternate and Hardcore variants. Four are new: Inflation, Hijack, Collateral and Combat Outpost.
In Inflation, players collect cash from eliminations, and anyone carrying enough becomes a High Value Target whose position is revealed. Hijack has teams fight over a single Data Spike, and Collateral starts each player with a pistol and $800 for a pre-round Buy Phase.
Combat Outpost is a Ground War mode that the post describes as a reimagining of Domination. The post says Hardcore rules mean “a limited HUD, friendly fire, and reduced health with no regeneration.”
A Proving Grounds training course is also listed, along with two extra modes for Halloween in the lead-up to Season 1. These are Possession, which is new, and Infected, which is returning.
The post lists pre-orders as available on Steam. Steam’s store page, read on 23 October, gives 22 October as the release date and still shows the game as coming soon, while the post’s Shipment entry refers to a launch on October 27. The sources do not agree, so no launch date is given here. Our earlier DMZ early access report found a similar gap.
