CD PROJEKT RED’s Edgerunners 2 Update is live, with a new side quest, a dual-wield perk and cross-platform mod support. Here is what is in Update 2.5 and how to reach the new content.
CD PROJEKT RED’s launch post says the Edgerunners 2 Update (2.5) is out now. It went up at 10:06 UTC on 22 October, which is 9:06pm AEDT by our conversion, and ties the update to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, which it says is available now on Netflix.
The full patch notes start with the new side quest, Clampdown. To unlock it, complete The Heist and two gigs for Wakako, then wait for a message from her. It gives you a 5-piece gear set based on King and adds a radio station, HKGN 102.0 FM.
Another side quest, Welcome to Paradise, unlocks after The Heist once you reach level 15 Street Cred. The update also adds 12 Minor Arcana Tarot cards to find, with separate Major and Minor Arcana sections in the Tarot menu.
If you want to dual-wield, look to the Cool tree. The new Double Trouble perk, plus four auxiliary perks, lets you dual-wield Pistols and Revolvers from the Power category. Photo Mode gains frames from the Cyberpunk Trading Card Game and new dual-wielding poses.
You can now give your hand cyberware a new look. Equip Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire or the Projectile Launch System, then visit one of five Glamdocs, which the notes say are marked with a spray paint icon on the map.
There are five new outfit sets at vendors, including Maxiwear in Heywood, Arroyo and Little China, and NetWatch in Kabuki and Japantown. Four TWINTONE skins for the Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech come through Twitch Drops.
The update adds Cross-Platform Mod Support, powered by mod.io, on PC, Mac, PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X|S. The notes say more mods will become available over time. Modded saves get their own icon in the Load Game menu, and achievements and trophies cannot be earned on console from a modded save file.
On PC, the notes add support for DLSS 4.5, with up to 6X Multi Frame Generation. FSR 3 upscaling is gone, while FSR 2.1, FSR 4 and FSR 3.1 Frame Generation stay available. Mac gets MetalFX Frame Interpolation.
Steam’s Australian store page listed Cyberpunk 2077 at A$26.98 when we read it on 23 October, 70% off A$89.95. We did not find an end date for the discount. The game, its Ultimate Edition and Phantom Liberty also all appeared on Steam’s Australian top sellers list that day.
