Pre-Purchasers Can Play The Full Story Ahead Of The 23 October Launch
The Modern Warfare 4 campaign is now playable early. Activision’s Steam post, published at 4:00am AEDT on Saturday 17 October, says “Campaign Early Access is officially live.” The campaign runs across “sixteen action-packed missions.”
Access goes to players who digitally pre-order or pre-purchase on Steam. The post names the Standard Digital Edition and the Vault Edition. It says early access lasts until the full launch.
Steam’s Australian store lists the Standard Edition at A$109.95 and the Vault Edition at A$149.95. A Vault Edition Upgrade is listed at A$40.00.

The story follows Private Park Hyun Jun and his squad as they fight back against what the post calls a “full-scale invasion across the Korean Peninsula.” Elsewhere, the operator-turned-outlaw John Price hunts for the one pulling the strings.
Playing through earns completion rewards, which the post says will be usable in Multiplayer and DMZ at the full launch. It lists them in order: “Cho” Base Operator, the “No More Rules” Calling Card, a Double XP Token, “Dallas” Base Operator and the “Ready Line” Loading Screen.
The list carries on with “Luca” Base Operator, the “Gone Dark” Emblem, “Oh-Ji” Base Operator, a Double XP Token, “Kal” Base Operator and a Double Weapon XP Token. It ends with “Dunn” Base Operator, a Double Weapon XP Token, “West” Base Operator, a Double XP Token and “Park” Base Operator.

The post says DMZ early access starts on “October 20” and that the game “launches in full on October 23.” It gives no time of day or time zone for either date.
Activision also points players to a Story So Far recap of the series. We covered the early access dates last week.
