Crytek has published the patch notes for Blood Testament Chapter 2 in Hunt: Showdown 1896, which began on 6 October.
The Chapter 2 patch notes went up on Steam just before 2am AEDT on Wednesday 7 October. They lead with the return of the Inferno Time of Day.
Crytek’s notes describe it in full.
“The Inferno Time of Day is back to Hunt, bringing wildfires raging across all maps. It comes with reduced visibility due to heavy smoke and wildfires in affected areas. Wildfires are fixed in location, blocking key traversal paths and forcing new route planning.”
AI will generally avoid the wildfire zones, though the notes warn that enemies may follow players through the flames when necessary.
Inferno will stay in the active Time of Day rotation throughout Chapters 2 and 3.
A new Firefighter Supply appears only during Inferno. Its rewards include the Flame Rifle, a Scouting Map and Tarot Cards.
The Flame Rifle is a Scarce Weapon that “releases pressurized liquid producing a steady burst of flames”, and every Firefighter Supply is guaranteed to carry one.
All Hallows’ Cleave
The notes list the All Hallows’ Cleave Community Event under upcoming updates. It has five stages, progressed by earning Community Event Points from objectives in matches.
Stage 1 unlocks The Atlas, a Tarot Card that reveals all hidden locations on the map.
Stage 3 unlocks The Temperance, which restores the last Trait a hunter lost in the mission. Stage 5 adds the Long Derringer, a single-shot pistol that fires Long Ammo.
Bileweavers also return, infesting 20 new Compounds across all maps, with five selected for each match.
Their relatives, the red-bodied Bloodweavers, cause Bleeding damage with their jump attack and egg-hatching. They appear only during the Blood Moon Time of Day.
According to the notes, the Bileweavers, the Bloodweavers and the infected Compounds “will all arrive with All Hallows’ Cleave on Oct 13th”.
Bound by Blood
Crytek’s Chapter 2 trailer post also promised a new DLC. Bound by Blood is now on Steam for A$14.99, with a release date of 7 October.
It contains The Protegee Hunter, The Primrose Mosin-Nagant, the Skin Deep Sparks Pistol Silencer and The White Fox Ammo Box, plus a matching avatar and frame.
