Got a soft spot for dusty old cartridges? Then there’s a free demo you’ll want to grab before PAX Aus this weekend!
Cozy Game Restoration is a soothing sim from Parasol Corp, and it’s one of this year’s Aus Indie Showcase winners, which PAX says celebrates “some of Australia’s greatest independent tabletop and video games”. You tear off packing tape, peel old stickers and scrub away grime until a forgotten cart looks like new again (the screenshots suggest a toothbrush does a lot of the heavy lifting).
The final demo went live on Steam on 1 October, and it has already been patched four times! It runs on Windows, Mac and Steam Deck, with Linux via Proton, and you get seven games to clean over three days.
The developer calls it a solo project, and you won’t be the only one scrubbing. Parasol says the earlier Next Fest demo was downloaded 146,000 times and brought in 280,000 wishlists!
Rather try it in person? We’ll see you at the Showcase booths, on the edge of PAX Rising in the main expo hall.
