Liberty Day is in its third year, and this year’s gift is the AR-23L Liberator Legacy. It is handed out when the celebration ends, which in Sydney is 9:59am on Tuesday.
Arrowhead set out the details in a post on the PlayStation Blog. Liberty Day is the in-universe holiday on 26 October, and this year’s gift is a retro rifle modelled on weapons from the First Galactic War.
The timing is in the post’s footnotes: rifles are distributed at the end of Liberty Day, 23:59 CET on 26 October, which is 9:59am AEDT on Tuesday 27 October by our conversion. You qualify if you have played since 26 September, 00:00 CET, as the post puts it. If you have dropped in at any point in the last month, you should see it.
Your ship gets dressed up too, with banners, rugs and party supplies aboard every Super Destroyer for 24 hours on the day. The post does not say when those 24 hours start or end, so don’t count on them lasting past the rifle drop.
The community minigames are back as well. Minidivers has you send emoji stratagem codes in chat to stop waves of enemies. Adopt-a-SEAF gives you a blueberry to care for and send on missions, while Oath of Enlistment and Raise the Flag round it out. Minidivers, the Oath and the Flag run only on the official Discord server.
There is a printable side as well, because the Liberty Day Party Pack has games, decorations, recipes and printable Helldiver helmets.
The Super Merch store ties in-game goals to real items you can then buy. Reach Level 100 and earn the Hell Commander title to unlock the Hell Commander Pin. Complete 75 missions to unlock the Private Teddy Snuggles Plush, with the criteria to be met by 28 February 2027. The post gives no Australian prices, and its shipping terms cite US regulations, so check the store before you plan on either.
This lands days after the 7.2.0 balance update and the move to Easy Anti-Cheat. On PC, Helldivers 2 is on Steam.
