Dead by Daylight patch 10.2.1 renames Abandon to Surrender and gives Killers an End Trial option against bots. It also fixes bugs across perks, maps and Killers.

Behaviour Interactive posted the 10.2.1 patch notes on Steam at 2:01am AEDT on Thursday 15 October. Here is what changes when you queue.

Surrender is the new name for Abandon. It shows up when no other human Survivors are left and at least one bot is. You get the option to surrender, and you count as Surrendered. We covered how Survivor intent and Surrender work earlier this month.

Killers get End Trial. It appears when all remaining Survivors are bots. The patch removes the old “in the Dying State condition”.

Killer powers with a stack count now show “0” on the HUD when the stack runs out. Before, they showed a looping arrow. The notes name Trickster and Huntress as examples. The Mastermind’s Virulent Bound also gets adjustments to improve redirection.

The perk fixes are worth a read before you build. Potential Energy could stop adding tokens when skill checks appeared. Decisive Strike failed to trigger when Killers were in the falling state. Hex: The Third Seal activated inconsistently. The notes also list a crash when playing in a trial with the Wraith.

The Haunted By Daylight event started on Tuesday 13 October at 11:00am Eastern. We converted that to 2:00am AEDT on Wednesday 14 October. The post gives no end date. The Void Tile is gone. Void Portals and Void Haunts now appear in every trial, and you spend Void Energy on Event Abilities as soon as you have enough. Check the in-game Gameplay Details for the rest.

On Steam in Australia, Dead by Daylight costs A$28.95. Our earlier story on Borrowed Time before 10.2.0 has the background on this patch cycle.

Update before you queue tonight and test the new Surrender prompt in a bot match.
