Behaviour Interactive is walking back part of Dead by Daylight‘s 10.2.0 update before it leaves the test server, and the biggest reversal is Borrowed Time.

The PTB to Live developer update, posted at 5am AEDT on Tuesday, lists what changes between the Public Test Build and the live release — and what stays the way testers saw it. The team says 10.2.0 is “just around the corner” but gives no date.

Borrowed Time goes back to how it plays on Live today. The developers said they liked what they explored, but “didn’t like that we were removing a useful anti-tunnel option, so old Borrowed Time is back.”

Windows of Opportunity is the change they are keeping. Many players worried it would hurt newer players, and the team acknowledged those concerns, but said “Windows was doing too much and overshadowing other perks.”

Three other perks move from what was on the PTB. Shoulder the Burden loses its deactivation condition for other Survivors — a limit the team said hurt solo players who cannot communicate.

This is Not Happening loses its Great basic Skill Check zone increase. The developers pointed to concerns about how it combined with Hyperfocus.

On the Killer side, Dark Arrogance now only applies its basic-attack cooldown to missed and obstructed attacks, not successful hits. The note says Killers were recovering from hits too quickly on the PTB, which “ended up making chases feel too short.”

The 10.2.0 PTB patch notes were posted on 15 September, so these changes follow roughly three weeks of player feedback.

Behaviour says this is only a handful of the changes, chosen to address “the loudest concerns ahead of time.” The full patch notes were promised for the day after the post — they were not on Steam when this was written — and they will show whether anything else has moved before release.
