DayZ developer Bohemia Interactive has switched on its annual Halloween event, and this year it runs on three of the game’s maps — Chernarus, Livonia and Sakhal — from 26 October to 6 November.
The dates come from the studio’s Halloween Event 2026 announcement on Steam, posted on 26 October. The post does not give start or end times, so check in-game before you plan a late-night run on the last day.
Nasdara is the exception. The post says plainly that “Nasdara will not be getting the Halloween event,” and jokes that “the heat alone is scary enough to traumatize you” instead.

What players get on the three event maps is a castle “haunted by spooky fog”, three new types of infected — the Mummy Infected, Jack O’ Infected and Witch Infected — and decaying player characters.
There are cosmetics too. The post lists a leaf crown, witch hat, witch hood and pumpkin helmet, among others, and says event assets “will spawn differently depending on the map”. Its infographic marks which items turn up on which map, and Sakhal does not get all of them.
Nasdara arrived with the Badlands expansion, which we covered at launch in October. To mark it, Bohemia says Badlands is “on sale for up to 10% off”. The post does not give a price or an end date for that sale.

The base game is also discounted on Steam’s Australian store, at A$34.99 — half its A$69.99 list price — when we checked on 27 October. The store data does not say when that discount ends.
The event is an annual one for the survival game, and this year’s run is a little over a week and a half long.
