Good news if you are still trying out Battlefield 6: the free trial just got longer!

EA’s Steam post, which went up at 7:28am AEDT on Saturday 17 October, says the trial now runs to “Tuesday, October 20 at 5 PM UTC”. That is 4am AEDT on Wednesday 21 October (we did the conversion ourselves). It replaces the earlier end we reported, which was 4am AEDT on Tuesday, so please use the new time.

Why the extra time? The post says “the Steam Free Trial for Battlefield 6 did not work for all players on its first day”. It adds that the problem has been fixed. The 2x XP weekend is also “extended to Tuesday as well”, though the post does not give a time of day for that.

If you do not see the Multiplayer tiles in your trial, the post has a fix. Close and restart Steam, open the Battlefield 6 store page and click “Play Game” (that should start the multiplayer download). Our earlier piece has the rest of the trial rules.

One thing to watch if you want to buy (a small catch, sorry!). Steam in Australia lists the Standard Edition at A$43.98, which is 60 per cent off A$109.95. The store page says that offer ends on 20 October and gives no time of day, so it may finish before the trial does.

So hop on tonight, jump into a round, and tell your mates the trial is still going!
