If you have been looking for Fortnite on your iPhone, you are clearly not alone! When we checked Apple’s Australian top free games chart on Wednesday afternoon, Fortnite was sitting at number one.
The Australian App Store listing has it as a free download from Epic Games Sweden AB, rated 12+, with an average of 4.7 stars from 473 ratings (we rounded that one up from 4.69, we promise).
You will need iOS 17 or later and a fair bit of room, as the listed app size is about 2.3GB. The listing says it runs on iPhone 11 and newer, iPhone XS and newer, iPhone 12 Mini and newer, iPhone SE 3 and newer, plus recent iPads including iPad Pro 10.5″ and newer, iPad Air 4th Gen and newer, iPad 10th Gen and newer and iPad Mini 6th Gen and newer.
The current version is 42.40.1, with Battle Royale, Zero Build, Reload, LEGO Fortnite and Fortnite Festival all listed!
You may have seen reports about Epic and Apple in the Federal Court. We could not load the court’s judgment or Epic’s own announcement from our end today, so we are sticking to what the store shows (and the store says number one!).
So grab your phone, check you have the space, and go drop in!
