Creative Assembly has put out its first fix for Lords of the End Times, two days after the DLC launched. Hotfix 9.0.1 for Total War: Warhammer III went up on Steam on 26 September, and it deals mostly with menus, sieges and one campaign ending that could finish itself.

The notes open by thanking players “for all the feedback you’ve shared since our launch on Thursday”, and call this “a quick hotfix to address some of the more pressing issues”. Here is what those issues were, grouped the way they affect play.

Neferata’s Web of Power

Three of the fixes are about one menu. Hovering over Events could close Neferata’s Web of Power, and hovering over Events after its scripted tour was “forcefully ended” could crash the game. WASD input could also stop working while the menu was open.

A fourth fix clears a softlock — during the scripted tutorial on Necromancy Tabs, but only when playing in Italian.

Sieges and the Underlings

Three fixes stop settlements from becoming impossible to attack. Underling armies were being disbanded after winning a sally-out battle if any of their forces survived, which the notes say “renders the settlement non-targetable”. Settlements also became untargetable if Underling armies expired mid-siege, and right-clicking a settlement’s resource bar would not target it at all.

Campaign endings

Two endings get fixed. The Vermintide Endgame “would be completed automatically upon reaching 100% Knowledge, without winning the final battle”, and that no longer happens. The Black Pyramid End Game scenario can also no longer trigger while you are playing as Nagash.

The rest is smaller — a rare crash tied to the Wounded trait, keybinds failing after a narrative event as Boris Todbringer, and localisation strings.

What is still broken

The more useful part of the post is the list of what is not fixed yet. Creative Assembly says the next hotfix comes “next week”, and names four issues it is investigating. Thanquol’s narrative does not trigger in multiplayer, so he cannot unlock Underlings — the studio plans “an alternate way to unlock these lords in multiplayer”. Entering a Sea Lane or Portal while holding a book of Nagash temporarily removes those sigils. Gotrex & Felix’s quest battle can fail to end after a fast win, and the Bone Giant is out of reach for Nagash owners without the Tomb Kings DLC.

A separate balance patch is also coming “in the next few weeks”.

What this signals is a studio triaging in public — blockers first, with balance left to a separate patch. Our launch-eve coverage has the details of the DLC itself. The base game is A$99.95 on Steam in Australia.
