Lords of the End Times, the largest DLC in the Total War: Warhammer series’ ten-year history, unlocks on Thursday 24 September. For the first time, buying it gets you into the Immortal Empires campaign even if you have never bought Warhammer III.
That second part is the real news. Buy the full bundle, or any single lord from it, and Creative Assembly grants access to Immortal Empires, the huge campaign map that stitches together all three games. Until now, getting the full map meant owning a stack of base games and packs.
The four lords
Nagash leads a new Undead Legions faction. He builds necropolises that drain the land around them, powers up his Black Pyramid, and hunts down the nine Mortarchs and the Books of Nagash on his way to godhood. In battle he can raise units from the Tomb Kings, Vampire Counts and Vampire Coast rosters.
Thanquol joins the Skaven, running his campaign through scheming Masterplans.
The Glottkin fight for the Warriors of Chaos and Nurgle, seeding Gardens of Corruption as they go.
Boris Todbringer defends the Empire and works to rebuild the Great Temple of Ulric for civic and military bonuses.
You can buy the four lords one at a time or as a bundle, which Creative Assembly discounts by 15%.
The free update alongside it
Everyone who owns the game gets one of the series’ biggest free updates on the same day. It adds Neferata, the Vampire Queen, as a new Legendary Lord, reworks the Vampire Counts and Archaon the Everchosen, brings in new End Game Scenarios, and updates the victory conditions for every older Legendary Lord.
If you have bounced off Warhammer III because of the cost of catching up, this is the cheapest way into the full map the series has offered.
