Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is now available on Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo of America posted the launch trailer on its YouTube channel at midnight AEDT, and its store page lists the release date as 6 October.
According to the trailer description, the Switch 2 version runs with higher resolution visuals and an improved framerate. It also supports mouse-style controls using the Joy-Con 2.
Switch 2 players also receive a free Costume Pack DLC, which is sold separately on Steam.
Rebrushed is a remake, published by THQ Nordic and developed by Purple Lamp. It first arrived on PC through Steam on 24 September 2024.
The game sends Mickey Mouse into Wasteland, a realm of forgotten Disney characters. He carries a magic brush, using paint to restore the world and thinner to alter it.
Those choices shape the story, and the game has multiple endings. Along the way Mickey meets Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, described as Walt Disney’s first creation.
The retail copy credits the original vision to Warren Spector, with the remake “reimagined by Purple Lamp”. Mickey also has new moves this time, including a dash, a ground pound and sprinting.
In Australia, JB Hi-Fi lists the Switch 2 version at A$58. The PS5, Xbox Series X and original Switch versions are A$34 each.
On Steam the game is A$54.95. It was marked down 60 per cent to A$21.98 when checked early on Wednesday 7 October.
The trailer description does not give an Australian eShop price, so that figure is not yet known here.
