Version 1.0 Adds Achievements, NPC Voices And A Reworked Crime System
Silly Suspects has left Early Access. The developer’s Steam post, published at 2:21pm AEDT on Sunday 18 October, opens with “Silly Suspects is out of Early Access.”
The game is a “comical guess-who mystery,” according to the post. Players examine a crime scene, question suspects and rule them out one by one.
Steam’s Australian store lists it at A$8.60, which is 20 per cent off A$10.75. The page says the offer ends on 31 October and gives no time of day. Steam lists Classy Games as both developer and publisher, and the game is available for Windows and Linux.
The post says the game went into Early Access on 3 August. It lists 29 new Steam achievements, and every NPC now has a unique voice. Every building in town has a signage board, and trees sway in the wind.
Five new crime items join the pool: an antique globe, an oscillating fan, a pool noodle box, a towel stack and a water cooler jug.
The crime system has been reworked, with new charges, new wanted poster text and multiple outcomes depending on whether the suspect is caught. Citizen clues have been rewritten so the logic reads more clearly.
The options menu gains a Field of View slider, a Frame Rate Cap and a VSync toggle in Video. Controls gain a Mouse Sensitivity slider and an Invert Y toggle.
Steam showed 16 user reviews when we checked on 18 October, with 12 positive and 4 negative, labelled Mostly Positive. That is a single store’s count and it will change.
The studio’s site does not say where Classy Games is based, so we have not placed it.
