PlayStation Plus Monthly Games Revealed For October
F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896 and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 are the PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for October. The PlayStation Blog says all three will be available to members from Tuesday 6 October until Monday 2 November.
The post also carries a caveat that the line-up “may differ by region”, so it is worth checking the PlayStation Store on the day.
F1 25 is the PS5 headliner. It is the official game of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship, with Career and My Team 2.0 for solo players, where the player takes control as the owner of a Formula 1 team.
Online, F1 World adds a new multiplayer mode in which a squad of friends races together against AI drivers.
Hunt: Showdown 1896, also on PS5, is described by the blog as “a new era of the addictively unforgiving extraction shooter”. Players track down bosses, claim the bounty and fight their way out against monsters and rival Hunters.
The setting is “corrupted backwaters lost to history”. It can be played alone or with up to two teammates. A Hunt: Showdown 1896 Starter Pack also joins the PlayStation Plus HorrorFest packs on 6 October.
Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 is the only one of the three on both PS5 and PS4. It sets a team of four, picked from collected soldiers, against giant enemies attacking “the square Earth”.
The blog says teammates are “scattered around the world” waiting to be rescued, and the team, its equipment and its play style are chosen before each deployment.
The roster includes soldiers from the mainline series and its spin-offs, plus voxel versions of old enemies. It supports four-player online co-op and two-player local split screen.
September’s games are leaving soon. Members have until Monday 5 October to add Sniper Elite: Resistance, MLB The Show 26, Wobbly Life and Chained Echoes to their libraries.
There is also a tie-in for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which comes to Sony Pictures Core on 6 October. Members can claim limited-edition avatars in the app at no extra cost, in a promotion that ends on 20 October.
The other HorrorFest packs are a Call of Duty: Warzone Horror Bundle from 1 October and an Overwatch 2 Dragur Reinhardt pack with five tier skips from 7 October. The base game must be owned to use any of them.
