Three days after launch, Minecraft Dungeons II has an update that makes it playable on Steam Deck. A second change lifts the emerald cap from 9,999 to 99,999 on every platform.
The Steam Deck update went up on Steam early this morning, Australian time. The update post says the game “should now be playable on Steam Deck”, so if you have been waiting to take it on the couch or the train, download the update and give it a go.
It is not fully verified yet. The post warns that “some issues may occur”, and names one: on-screen keyboard functionality may be missing. More improvements are coming in a future update, the post says, aimed at full Steam Deck verification.

The second change is for everyone. The emerald cap has gone from 9,999 to 99,999 on all platforms. You do not need to download anything for this one. The change applies the next time you log in to the game.
That matters if you have been sitting at the old cap. Log in and the ceiling is now 99,999.

Run into a problem on Deck? The developers ask players to report bugs on the Minecraft Dungeons II bug tracker. The post also links a feedback page for everything else. Reports are how the missing keyboard gets fixed, so file one if you hit it.
Minecraft Dungeons II launched on 29 September, and we went through its connected world and Boss Totems on launch day. It is A$39.95 on the Australian Steam store, which matches the starting price in our pre-launch coverage.
