MADFINGER Games says it has permanently banned 293 accounts for cheating in Gray Zone Warfare, within hours of the public release of Update 0.5.
The developer posted a security report on Steam at 18:25 UTC on 22 October, which is 5:25am AEDT on 23 October by our conversion. It is titled “Release Day Ban Wave”.
Update 0.5, named Rogue Ops, went live earlier that day. MADFINGER’s changelog post went up at 16:08 UTC and lists “New Anti-Cheat Measures” among the update’s key features.
The security report refers to a Supporter Preview. The changelog post explains that owners of the Supporter Edition get early access to major updates through the Supporter Preview, several days before the full release.

The statement gives the figure and the outcome. It reads:
“Thanks to the improved cheat-detection systems introduced with Update 0.5, we’ve identified 293 accounts engaged in cheating during the Supporter Preview and the first few hours of the public release. All identified accounts have now been permanently banned. Our fight against cheaters continues, and we’re committed to making Gray Zone Warfare a fairer experience for everyone.”
The post asks for help from players. In its words, “If you encounter suspicious players, please use the in-game reporting system to bring them to our attention.”
It does not say how the cheating was detected, what the cheats did, or how many accounts were playing in the period. It names no tool or system beyond “improved cheat-detection systems”.
The post is signed MADFINGER Games Team.
