Black Sea Studios Launches Its Co-op Fishing Game

Fish with Friends is out now on Steam, and the developer’s release announcement sums up the idea in one line: every fish you catch goes in the boat, and the boat can only take so much.

The game is a co-op fishing game for one to four players online. It can also be played solo, though the studio says it is “a lot more fun when your friends are the ones tipping the boat over.”

The Australian Steam store lists it at A$9.77, which is 15 per cent off its A$11.50 price, on Windows only. Steam gives the release date as 31 October 2026.

Players sell what they bring home and buy better rods and bigger boats. From there, the post says, crews work their way out from the calm lagoons to the reefs, the wrecks and the Deep.

The catch is weight. In the studio’s words, “Get greedy and you’ll end up bailing water with a bucket while one friend patches a leak and another is still reeling in ‘just one more’.”

The fish get bigger further out, and so do the sharks, according to the announcement.

Fish with Friends is developed and published by Black Sea Studios, which self-publishes on Steam. Its own site describes the team as “a small indie team from Georgia”.

The site lists Food Delivery Simulator, Hotel Manager Simulator, Hide and Moo! and Fish with Friends as the studio’s releases since September 2023. BLINDSIGHT, Punch Your Way Out and Diamond District are listed as coming soon.

Players also have a say in what comes next. The studio says its Discord picked Hide and Moo! over Red Life in a community vote, 115 to 47.

For launch, Black Sea Studios is asking players to report bugs on its Discord, which it also suggests as a place to find a crew.
