The story-driven Metroidvania hit version 1.0 on Steam overnight. The developers are asking Early Access players to wipe their saves and begin again.
Fallen Tear: The Ascension is out in full on Steam. It unlocked at 1pm UTC yesterday, which was 11pm AEST here, and CMD Studios marked it with a Steam post thanking the 3,002 Kickstarter backers who funded it.
If you played the Early Access build, read this before you load in. Your old save will carry over, but the studio says it “cannot guarantee” it will stay free of progression or compatibility issues. Its advice is blunt: delete your Early Access saves and start a fresh file.
There is a good reason for that. The opening has changed significantly, and the world now gives you more freedom to explore than the semi-linear early game did. Progression, balancing, quests and features have all been reworked too.

The launch was already a week late. The team pushed it back from 16 September to 23 September for more optimisation and polish, and brought in PH3’s Peter “Durante” Thoman, who wrote a guest post about the performance work.
It is still not finished tuning, and the studio says so. Its known issues list covers occasional frame-rate drops, balancing for some bosses and for Hira’s Masteries, the in-game economy, and some missing voice-over lines and sound effects.
On the Australian Steam store it lists at A$34.95, currently discounted 10% to A$31.45. The game is developed by Winter Crew Studios and published by CMD Studios.

Console players have longer to wait. Gematsu reports that Maximum Entertainment will bring it to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and Switch in 2027, after an Early Access run on PC that began on 17 March.
You play Hira, a child fated to stand against ancient gods in the world of Raoah. The allies you recruit fight alongside you and each change how the world opens up. So pick your party with traversal in mind, not just combat.
