Ladder Season 16 starts at noon AEDT on Saturday 14 November. Patch 3.4 lands first, and it changes 20 items for Reign of the Warlock.

Diablo II: Resurrected is resetting its Ladder again. Blizzard’s Season 16 post sets the dates, and the Patch 3.4 notes in the same post change a long list of items.

Ladder Season 15 ends on Monday 9 November at 11am PST. In Sydney that is 6am AEDT on Tuesday 10 November. The Season 16 patch begins rolling out on Monday 9 November, US time. Season 16 starts on Friday 13 November at 5pm PST, which is 12pm AEDT on Saturday 14 November. The Asia start, 10am KST on 14 November, matches. All Sydney times are our conversion.

The four modes return: Ladder and Hardcore Ladder, plus Pre-Expansion Ladder and Pre-Expansion Hardcore Ladder for the original four acts only.

Check your Withdraw Only tabs before Tuesday

When Season 15 ends, your Ladder characters move to non-ladder. Their Shared Stash items go into the Withdraw Only tabs, marked with the Past box. Anything still sitting there from Season 14 is lost at that moment. You then have all of Season 16 to pull out your Season 15 items. Blizzard puts it plainly: “Be sure to get any items out before then, or they will be forever lost!”

There is a conversion change too. From 16 November, you can no longer convert online Lord of Destruction characters, Ladder or Non-Ladder, to Reign of the Warlock. Offline conversions and Classic to Lord of Destruction conversions still work.

The item changes

Read the scope first. The changes apply to Reign of the Warlock only, and only on Online Ladder and Offline. Classic and Lord of Destruction are untouched.

Eternity is the headline. It can now go in 5-socket missile weapons as well as melee. It gains +30 Increased Attack Speed, rises to +300-390% Enhanced Damage and adds +3-297 to Maximum Damage based on level. Its Level 8 Revive charges become +5 To Revive as an O skill.

Isenhart’s Armory gets a full rework. The set bonus rises to +30% Faster Run/Walk and adds +25% Faster Hit Recovery. The Lightbrand doubles to +40% Increased Attack Speed, the Parry adds cold and fire resistance, the Case adds Magic Resistance and the Horns add 5% Life Stolen.

Several weapons get big jumps. The Tannr Gorerod goes from +80-100% to +200-220% Enhanced Damage and adds life steal. Executioner’s Justice swaps its Decrepify proc for a 25% chance to cast Level 13 Amplify Damage on kill. The Atlantean adds +2-5 To Zeal for Paladins and drops its required level from 42 to 35.

Casters and summoners are covered too. The Salamander goes to +3 To Fire Skills and +4 To Fire Ball, with +10% Faster Cast Rate. Grim’s Burning Dead moves to +4 To Necromancer Skill Levels. Veil of Steel adds +2 To All Skills, 15-25% physical damage reduction and +20-40% Magic Resist.

The full list also covers Dimoak’s Hew, Serpent Lord, Griswold’s Edge, The Grim Reaper, Silks of the Victor, The Impaler, Coldkill, Lava Gout, Earthshaker, Swordguard, Demonhorn’s Edge and Ethereal Edge. Check the full Patch 3.4 notes before you plan a build, and keep an eye on Blizzard’s D2R news page for anything added before launch.

Ten items that were Ladder-only, including Angelic Raiment, Bloodletter and The Ward, also become available in Online Non-Ladder with the new season, again in Reign of the Warlock only.

Bug fixes

Patch 3.4 fixes Jewels not dropping from the last Uber Ancients boss in some cases, the Terror Zone toggle not saving, Auto-Party Invite not joining players, a Warlock’s bound demon losing its behaviour when Inferno was interrupted by a portal, and several freezes and crashes.

Diablo II: Resurrected – Infernal Edition lists at A$59.95 on the Australian Steam store. Last season’s changes are in the Season 15 post, and the series’ next big step is Diablo V in spring 2029.
