Valve has released a Counter-Strike 2 update that adds a progress bar for demo downloads.

The patch notes went up on Steam at 10:02am AEDT on Thursday 15 October. Steam lists Valve as both developer and publisher, and the game is free to play.

The notes open with a section headed UI. Valve lists four changes, shown here joined with full stops.

“Demo/Replay viewer improvements: Added a progress bar for demo/replay downloads. Camera controls now use click-and-drag scheme. Free and chase camera are usable during a paused demo. Fixed some minor issues when seeking to a different position in the demo file.”

The second section is headed MISC. It lists five items, joined here the same way.

“Round backup files now require the game server startup flag ‘-allow_round_backup_files’. Updated AUG reload animations for standing and crouch reloads to better match new reload duration. Allowed radio commands now have an explicit list. Added toolsskybox_occluder tool material for CS2 Workshop Tools. Stability improvements for Vulkan renderer.”

The round backup change is for anyone who runs a game server.

The notes give no reload duration for the AUG and name no radio commands.

The notes list no map changes, no weapon balance changes and no skin changes.
