Apex Legends banned 12,969 accounts in its first week on EA Javelin Anticheat, according to the game’s anti-cheat team.
The figures are in an update from the Anti Cheat Team, posted to Steam at 4:01am AEDT on Friday.
It is the first look at numbers since the move to Javelin, which we explained in September.
The team lists four figures for week one: 265,550 cheat attempts prevented, 12,969 accounts banned, 40 cheat programs tracked, and 91% of those tracked programs disrupted.

The larger number is not a ban count. The team draws the line between stopping a cheat and punishing the player who ran it.
“Javelin is designed not only to identify and action cheaters, but to prevent unauthorized software and cheating attempts from functioning in the first place. That means a successful prevention does not always result in a ban — and that is by design.”
Hardware cheats
The post also names four devices used for third-party hardware and controller-based cheating, with a ban count against each.
Aimzenix leads with 4,058 bans. Cronus follows with 1,201, then XIM with 199 and Titan with 141.
The team says the bans rest on “detections and supporting evidence designed to distinguish cheating behavior from legitimate hardware use.”

What comes next
The work is not finished, by the team’s own account. It is looking into footage doing the rounds.
“Despite the early success we’ve found with EA Javelin Anticheat, we are actively investigating videos circulating featuring some pretty egregious cheating activity; more to share soon.”
Every figure in the post is for PC. Javelin is a PC system, and the team says console players will get “important updates” in the coming weeks.
