Zenless Zone Zero’s version 3.3, “Journey to the Sky”, adds the Agents Phoenix and Severian and a new story chapter. HoYoverse’s notes also list the Spooky Funhouse Tales event and a new combat tool, the Bangboo Mech.
HoYoverse’s update announcement puts the start of version 3.3 at 06:00 on 21 October in UTC+8. That is 9am AEDT, by our conversion, and the post says the update would take about five hours.
On PC, exit the game and restart it, then choose update. On Android, follow the pop-up once you are in. On iOS, update from the App Store. On PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, check for updates from the console’s game menu.
There is compensation too. The post lists Polychrome ×300 as server update compensation, and another Polychrome ×300 for issue fixes. You need Inter-Knot Lv. 4 before the update to qualify.
The post says version 3.3 runs for 42 days and ends at 06:00 on 2 December in UTC+8. That is 9am AEDT on 2 December, by our conversion.
The new S-Rank Agents are Phoenix (Fire, Anomaly) and Severian (Wind, Attack). The post lists Phoenix under the “Into the Flames of Life” Signal Search and Severian under “Answers in the Wind”. Two new S-Rank W-Engines come with them, Plume of Rebirth and Incarcerating Grip.
A separate Signal Search post covers Phase I. It runs from the version 3.3 update until 11:59 on 11 November, “server time”, and it does not say which time zone that is, so we have not converted it. It lists Phoenix and Plume of Rebirth, plus Velina and Joyau Dore.
The post says the limited S-Rank Agents and W-Engines in these channels will not appear in the Star-Studded Cast Stable Channel. It also says the count towards a guaranteed Signal is shared across all Exclusive Channels, and separately across all W-Engine Channels. It says only that rates for the featured items are “significantly boosted”, and gives no figures.
The story moves on with Main Story Season 3 Chapter 4, “Journey to the Sky”. You need to finish Chapter 3, “Their Secret Histories”, first. It also opens two new areas, Quietude Isle and the Airspace Control Tower, both in Roscaelifer.
The “Spooky Funhouse Tales” event starts at 10:00 server time on 22 October and runs until 03:59 server time on 30 November. You need Inter-Knot Lv. 20 and Main Story Chapter 1 – Intermission. The post says you earn the limited-time Angels of Delusion outfit by completing all the Mission Mode stages, and that the A-Rank W-Engine Candlelit Scheme comes from the event.
The Bangboo Mech lets you take control of a Bangboo in the main story and on Quietude Isle, with melee and ranged modes. The post also adds an Agent Guides feature, and lets you link a HoYoverse account to Discord.
HoYoverse’s official site is at zenless.hoyoverse.com. When we read Apple’s top-grossing games charts on 21 October, Zenless Zone Zero ranked 1st in Korea, 3rd in Japan, 7th in China and 10th in Taiwan. Those are other countries’ charts, not Australia’s.
