Can you believe it has already been more than six months since Resident Evil Requiem landed (that is Resident Evil 9, for those of you still counting on your fingers)? Capcom dropped it on 27 February on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC, and it really has not slowed down since!
The numbers are a little bit silly. Requiem passed 5 million units by 4 March, then 6 million, which Capcom says is the fastest any Resident Evil game has reached that mark, and by the end of June it had cleared 8 million. Not bad at all for a game about FBI technical analyst Grace Ashcroft having a very bad time, with Leon S. Kennedy along for the ride!
If you have already finished the story, the free Leon Must Die Forever mini-game has been waiting for you since May. The bigger one is a story expansion, which Capcom confirmed was in development back on 10 March, but we are still waiting on a date for it.

It is also the series’ 30th anniversary this year, and if you happen to be in Osaka, Universal Studios Japan is running Resident Evil Requiem: The Dive, a walk-through horror maze (R-15, so maybe leave the little ones at home) from 11 September to 27 December.
Which brings us to tonight. Capcom is running a 40-minute Capcom Spotlight with the latest news on its titles, and we will be honest with you, Capcom has not said whether Requiem will turn up, and it is not in Capcom’s Tokyo Game Show lineup either. So fingers crossed, not money on it!
What: Capcom Spotlight, 40 minutes
When: Midnight AEST, Thursday 17 September (10am ET, Wednesday 16 September)
Where: Online, details on Capcom’s TGS 2026 site
So put the kettle on, stay up past your bedtime and let’s see if Capcom has anything new for Grace and Leon!
