Parasol Corp’s Cartridge-Cleaning Sim Gets Its First Patch

Cozy Game Restoration is out on Steam. The cartridge-cleaning sim from Australian studio Parasol Corp is A$19.99 on the Australian store, for Windows and Mac.

The game was one of this year’s PAX Aus Indie Showcase entries, which PAX describes as some of “Australia’s greatest independent tabletop and video games.” Parasol Corp is listed as both developer and publisher.

Launch was set for 11am on 5 November in Melbourne, according to the studio’s release times post. Since then, the developer has posted a bug list, a priority list and a first patch.

What Patch 1 Fixed

Patch 1 adds six languages: Russian, Bulgarian, Hungarian, Norwegian, Ukrainian and Turkish. Russian was missing at launch, which the developer put down to a mistake in the localisation setup.

The patch also fixes adhesive not appearing on discs when stickers are removed. Some tutorial text that was not localising has been fixed, and empty page arrows have been removed from the upgrade menu.

What Is Still Broken

The post-launch update puts a Steam Deck problem first. Some players get a soft lock when the Deck goes to sleep or into screensaver mode, and the developer has not yet been able to reproduce it.

Until a fix lands, the advice is to save first, using save & exit or finishing the current clean, before putting the game down. The list also names tools that do not always register as cleaned from some angles, tweezers that pick up packing peanuts by mistake and a letter intro that can soft lock when instructions are skipped with hotkeys.

What Comes Next

Achievements and cloud saves top the feature list, followed by inventory filters, toolbar callouts and a movable sponge and bin. Better onboarding is planned too, including explaining the heat gun as a way to soften sticker glue.

Larger features, such as opening carts, are held for a roadmap post “in the next weeks.” The post ends on a note about pace: “Sorry if things get a bit slow it’s literally just me and my coffee!”
