Two more teams are out of Worlds after Saturday morning’s elimination matches. LOS and Hanwha Life live on at 2-2, and round five starts at 4am Sunday.
This is not an Australian-team story. The LCP’s last team, CTBC Flying Oyster, went out on Friday, as we reported in yesterday’s round four results. All times here are Sydney time from Riot’s schedule.
At 7am, LOS beat Team Liquid Alienware 2-1, according to Riot’s official Worlds schedule. Both teams came in at 1-2. Team Liquid Alienware are out at 1-3 by our count, and LOS move to 2-2.
LoL Esports marked the result with a clip titled “LOS is the first EVER CBLOL team to reach 2-2 in Swiss”. That is Riot’s own claim, and we have not checked it against past events.
At 10am, Hanwha Life Esports beat G2 Esports 2-0. That ends G2’s Worlds at 1-3 by our count, and HLE also move to 2-2. The full G2 vs HLE VOD is up if you want the series.
The Swiss Stage Day 7 highlights are below. The thumbnail on the upload reads “Day 11”, but the title says Day 7.
Round five is the last round of the Swiss Stage. By our count every match is a 2-2 decider, so the winners go to the Knockouts and the losers go home. Riot now lists all three for Sunday 1 November:
- 4am: Movistar KOI vs Karmine Corp
- 7am: LOS vs LYON
- 10am: Hanwha Life Esports vs Bilibili Gaming
All three are best of three. If you are getting up for one, 7am is the CBLOL against the LCS again, this time with LYON.
The Quarterfinals follow at 9am from Wednesday 4 November, and Riot lists a match each morning to Saturday 7 November. Check the schedule for the draw once round five is done.
