VRChat’s Horror-Themed Spookality Event Is Live
VRChat‘s Spookality 2026 is live, built around a camp called Camp Whispering Screams.
The announcement says Spookality brings “all-new, creator-made horror-themed worlds and avatars, events all month long, and a lot of rewards.” It was posted at 8am AEDT on Saturday 17 October (we converted that from 21:00 UTC on Friday).
The event is based on a themed world and avatar jam. The winners are on show in the new Spookality Hub, and the world and avatar rows stay active until 2 November at 2pm PT, which is 9am AEDT on Tuesday 3 November by our conversion.
A Twitch ceremony showing off the top three worlds and avatars is set for 24 October at 12pm PT, or 6am AEDT on Sunday 25 October. A DJ event with four DJs runs in VRChat at the camp on 31 October at 5pm PT, which is 11am AEDT on Sunday 1 November.
Twitch Drops are on offer. Link your VRChat account and watch on the 24th or the 31st for a drop, and attend the DJ event for another reward.
Visitors to the camp world on four dates get camp-themed hats. The post names them as the 16th, 23rd, 30th and 31st, without a time zone.
The event has a referral program. Refer one friend and you both get a special water bottle, and refer three for a Profile Decoration set featuring a spooky VRRat.
The Hype Train is back. Dropping VRC+ gifts in a Spookality world or the hub triggers it, and the drops needed fall from 50 to 5. The post lists a Rucksack Avatar Accessory for gifting at least one VRC+, and a Ghost Companion for completing the train.
The Shop has been updated with camp-themed content, “Available until Dec 18.”
