The Division

Massive Entertainment has revealed the patch notes for Update 1.8.1 of The Division, which includes Xbox One X enhancements, two brand new Global Events, and the new Classified acquisition changes.

The Xbox One X enhancements for The Division will add 4K rendering, higher anisotropy, improved reflections, improved object detail, and improved scree-space shadows. The abandoned New York streets of The Division were already gorgeous, but these enhancements will make even the most disgusting piece of trash look amazing.

Two brand new Global Events are making their way to The Division, which are modifiers designed to spice up the gameplay and offer new challenges. Global Event Blackout equips Agents with shock ammo that stuns enemies. Global Event Onslaught has Agents deal burn, bleed and gas damage effects. Reloading weapons changes the effect, which could create some tense moments. These new Global Events will be located in Amherst’s Apartment and Grand Central Station.

One of the biggest parts of the update are the changes to the drop rate of Classified Gear. Classified drop rates chances have increased throughout all locations within The Division. Legendary missions now have a 20% chance of rewarding agents with Classified Gear, Season Pass Supply Drops now have a 10% chance, and Survival Caches now have an estimated 10% chance to drop classified gear. There will also be tweaks made to standard and global event vendors, which will add classified gear caches and guarantee at least one classified gear piece.

Massive Entertainment has constantly been tweaking the drop rate of their most desired gear and with the announcement of The Division 2, it seems they want all Agents to get the chance to be decked out with the best gear available. All of these updates have drastically changed The Division and the game is better off for it.

Update 1.8.1 will be available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on April 12.
