Brisbane’s Stranded Deep is free to play on Steam right now, and you have until 4am on Tuesday!
The game’s Steam post says the free weekend runs “From Oct 15th – 19th, 10am Pacific Time.” That is 4am AEDT on Tuesday 20 October by our conversion, because 10am PDT is 17:00 UTC. Steam’s store page says “Play for free until 19 Oct @ 10:00am” (and gives no time zone, so don’t leave it to the last minute).
The post invites you to “dive into Stranded Deep solo or with a friend!” It is a build, craft and survive game set in the Pacific.
Want to keep it? Steam’s Australian store lists Stranded Deep at A$11.58, which is 60 per cent off A$28.95. The page says the offer ends on 22 October and gives no time of day.
The studio’s own site says Beam Team Games is “an independent video game studio based in Brisbane, Australia.” Steam lists Beam Team Games as developer and Beam Team Publishing as publisher. Across all languages, Steam’s reviews read 35,667 positive out of 48,496, which Steam rates Mostly Positive.
The post also points to the sequel. It asks you to add Stranded Deep 2 to your wishlist, and says the latest dev blog, “Natural Selection”, reveals two new animals players can uncover in the desert.
So grab a mate, get on Steam and give a Brisbane studio a go before 4am Tuesday!
