In a recent Nintendo Direct, Nintendo announced 16 ‘Nindie’ games that will be coming to the Switch in 2018. If you love indie video games, than Nintendo has the Direct for you.
The short Nintendo Direct featured a wide variety of titles, both old and new, that will cater to nearly every gamers personal preference. Titles such as Mark of the Ninja Remastered and Banner Saga 3 were nice surprises, while Lightfall and West of Loathing showed off unique and interesting gameplay that will make them an essential addition to the Switch’s library.
There were a few, smaller titles revealed as well. Pool Panic seems like a fun puzzle game that puts an interesting spin on billiards, and Bad North looks like a brutal, but rewarding rogue-like game featuring vikings. Shout out to Bomb Chicken, which is a game where you’re a chicken who blows things up with bombs. That is pretty awesome. These weird and different ‘Nindies’ showcase how dedicated Nintendo is to populating the Switch with a diverse library of games.
Nintendo understands that their portable console is perfect for smaller, independent titles and this line up of ‘Nindies’ takes advantage of that fact. Each of these games could be played in short-bursts on public transport, in the car, or on the toilet, (come on, we all do it).
