Twelve Kaiju, One Arena: The Remastered Brawler Lands on PlayStation 5

Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered launches on PlayStation 5 on 3 November, according to the PlayStation Blog.

Ahead of launch, the blog has published a fighter guide to all 12 kaiju on the roster, with an “ideal for” line on each one.

The game is published by Atari and developed by Pipeworks Studios. The Steam store also lists a 3 November release on Windows, with local co-op and “new online multiplayer”.

No price was shown on the Australian Steam listing when it was checked early this morning, so none is given here.

Heisei Godzilla is the default character and the guide’s pick for “players who want to dive straight in”. It says he is balanced for newcomers and veterans alike, though his high-energy pulse is slow to charge.

Godzilla 2000 is described as a little faster than Heisei Godzilla but not quite as strong, and arguably easier to use.

King Ghidorah is the zoning character, keeping opponents at a distance with projectiles. The guide warns that his lack of arms makes him “a poor melee fighter”.

Anguirus is a counter-attack specialist with high defence, while Megalon tunnels underground to dodge attacks and grab opponents from below.

Gigan is the rushdown pick, with teleportation and hooked claws. Destoroyah is the classic tank, powerful but slow and hungry for energy.

Rodan is “the fastest monster in the game”, according to the guide, but has the weakest defence on the roster.

The mechanical kaiju are Mecha-King Ghidorah as a long-range grappler, Mechagodzilla as a heavy ranged fighter and Kiryu as a more weapons-focused Godzilla. Orga, by the guide’s account, is the best grappler in the game.

Players who tried the Steam demo in October had Godzilla, King Ghidorah and Gigan to choose from. The full game has all 12 on the roster.
