Pearl Abyss Sends Crimson Desert Out To Sea

Crimson Desert Enhanced: Charting the Unknown unlocks today, and Pearl Abyss’s release schedule puts it at 9am AEDT on Friday 30 October.

The publisher’s global release times post lists the DLC for 10pm UTC on 29 October, or 7am KST and JST on 30 October. In Sydney that is 9am AEDT, by our conversion.

It launches on Steam, the PlayStation Store, the Xbox Store and the Epic Games Store. The Australian Steam store lists it at A$39.99, and it was sixth on Steam’s Australian top sellers list early this morning.

A patch for the base game is released at the same time, and Pearl Abyss asks players to download and install it before launching. Pre-orders stay open on all platforms until release.

The features overview says the DLC adds three new storylines, one each for Kliff, Oongka and Damiane. Each can be started from the Journal menu once the main story is complete.

A separate ocean storyline opens after Howling Hill in the main story. All three characters can dive into the sea to find ruins, treasure chests, and new creatures and mounts, although staying underwater consumes breath.

Ships can be built through a ship-building dispatch mission at a port, or bought from a Fleet Office manager, once a related questline is done. That questline becomes available after the Greymane Camp is set up at Howling Hill.

Bonds with some of Pywel’s inhabitants can grow into romance and even marriage, according to the post, and friends may visit the Greymane Camp once it is upgraded far enough.

An upgraded housing system lets players build a house from the ground up. Three castles can be claimed after the main story, and businesses can be rented and run, from a restaurant in Vellua to a smithy at Zargan Tankworks.

The Garden of Trials is new combat content that sets players against bosses from the main adventure, one after another, with special rewards for completing it.

Pearl Abyss says more details will come in patch notes on release day, so the full list of changes should be public within hours of the 9am unlock.
