A new Trainee Umamusume, Starry Lightship Hokko Tarumae, is on a Spotlight Scout in the English version of Umamusume: Pretty Derby. The banner is already live and closes on the morning of Saturday 7 November in Sydney.
Cygames opened the scout at 6:00am UTC on 24 October, according to its official news post. That was 5pm AEDT on Saturday 24 October, by our conversion.
It closes at 9:59pm UTC on 6 November. In Sydney that is 8:59am on Saturday 7 November, again by our conversion. The preview post from the day before gives the same window.
The featured Trainee is ★★★ [Starry Lightship] Hokko Tarumae, a debut. Cygames says scout rates for her are increased while the spotlight runs, but the post does not give the rates themselves. It points to Details on the Scout screen in the game for those.
Each copy of her you get also comes with a bonus of 90 Hokko Tarumae Star Pieces. The post says the bonus applies every time you obtain her, including through Trainee Exchange Points. Those points do not carry over to future scouts, and any you leave unspent turn into Clovers when the period ends.
Her unique skill, Shine On, Tomakomai! ☆, works in dirt races. The post describes it this way: “Slightly increase acceleration when well-positioned in the last spurt after engaging in a challenge on a mid-race corner in a dirt race. Effect increases if still going strong.” The legacy version drops that last boost.

There is a shorter event on top. A Career race bonus gives [Fanatic♡Jiangshi] Agnes Digital Star Pieces for entering the Zen-Nippon Junior Yushun once a day, with more for a win. It ends at 2:59pm UTC on 27 October, which is 1:59am AEDT on Wednesday 28 October by our conversion.
The game sits near the top of Japan’s mobile charts. When we read Apple’s Japanese top-grossing games chart on 27 October, the Japanese release sat second. The English version these posts cover is also on Steam, developed and published by Cygames.
