Version 7.2 Gets A Release Date, A Trailer And A First Event
Genshin Impact Version 7.2, called Hour of Ruin, will be released on 4 November 2026, according to HoYoverse’s own Events Overview post.
The Events Overview post went up on HoYoLAB at 12:45 UTC on 23 October, which was 11:45pm AEDT that night once converted to Sydney time. It carries a disclaimer: “This is under development and is not indicative of the final product.”
A trailer post went up five minutes earlier. Its text reads “I have seen the grave that awaits the world, and I shall show it to the heavens themselves.” and “If we were created only to be destroyed, then let the flames of fury and life be our answer.”
Neither the trailer nor the overview video was watched, so nothing here describes what they show. The posts give no release time and no character or banner details.
An earlier HoYoLAB post said the Version 7.2 Special Program would be broadcast on Friday 23 October at 20:00 (UTC+8). That is 11pm AEDT once converted.

One event is already listed. In Overflowing Favor, a successful Domain of Blessing challenge that uses Original Resin doubles its rewards, up to three times a day. It runs from 2026/10/26 04:00 to 2026/11/02 03:59, and the post gives no time zone.
Players need Adventure Rank 20 or above, and the Domain of Blessing must be activated first.
When Apple’s top-grossing games charts were read on 25 October, Genshin Impact ranked 43rd on the China storefront and 81st on Japan’s. Those are ranks on those two charts, not an Australian one.
