Though speculation for Persona 5 for Nintendo Switch was abundant and even believed by myself, all of that has recently been put to rest by a trailer that just got released by Atlus, officially announcing Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers. This Action RPG has been announced for not only the PlayStation 4, but also for the Nintendo Switch – which would have been shocking if Phantom wasn’t already in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – In fact, It’s more shocking that this reveal wasn’t Persona 5 for Nintendo Switch. I’m still holding out hope that it will one day in the near future become a reality. Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers looks to be an exciting game none the less, focusing on a more direct action approach to the normal style of gameplay. Very little has been shown so far, but from what we do know, it’s very fast, very flashy and keeps all the style from the Persona series in tact.
I may be completely wrong here since my knowledge of all things Japan is cut off at a base level, but from what I can see in the few seconds of gameplay in the trailer and the overall look from the game – It’s possible that Atlus gave us a little Easter Egg. As far as I can tell, the location of the trailer seems to be Scramble Crossing in Shibuya, well known for having an immense about of foot-traffic on one of the busiest four way crossings in the world (though it could also be any crossing- from the locals around it, it looks to be the place, but it would be a perfect way to promote a game with Scramble in the title on such an iconic landmark.) Either the outcome, I’m very highly looking forward to this release and can’t wait to see more of the game as time grows closer to it’s eventual release.
