RTX Sydney 2018 had local indie developers showcasing their games. We spoke with a few of them. Here’s our quick chat with Blowfish Studios.

Gamers Classified: Can you tell us a little about yourself and your studio?

George: I’m George. I’m a programmer at Blowfish studios. We just released Morphite which is like a space exploration game. It’s a first-person game where you go around between different planets and you discover the secret of Morphite. You can also go to procedurally generated planets and explore resources and upgrade your gear.

George: We also have Projection which we’re publishing with Shadowplay Studios. It’s a puzzle platformer where you utilise shadows to interact with the environment and figure out methods of getting through the puzzles, going through different cultures and beating levels.

This dog was quite captivating as I watched some Morphite.

Gamers Classified: What’s the inspiration behind Morphite?

George: The inspiration behind Morphite is kind of like Metroid in the sense that you can go around morphing and unlocking and getting tools to get through different paths of the levels so you can find newer resources and acquire more tools and build up your arsenal.

Gamers Classified: When is Morphite going to be available?

George: Morphite is already available on PC, Xbox One, Switch and PS4. And IOS. Not sure if it’s out on Android at the moment but I’d say IOS and Android.

Gamers Classified: For 2018, will Morphite and Projection be your main focus, or do you have some projects in the works?

George: For 2018, these will probably be our main focus.

Gamers Classified: Cool, thanks so much.

George: Thanks!
