Netflix has officially dropped the Season 2 trailer for Castlevania and god damn, things are getting bloody.

The trailer begins with our ragtag group of heroes, Trevor Belmont, Sypha Belnades, and the handsome, Alucard, facing off against some of Dracula’s minions. Of course, they don’t put up much of a fight. After that, we are introduced to Dracula’s generals, who have been enlisted to aid in his lovely mission of wiping out the entire human race. What a love group of undead people.

What follows is lots of shots of humans being slaughtered. My favourite is the general who cuts off someone’s head, raises them up and drinks the blood flowing out of the neck. I feel like vampires should have a straw on them at all times. Not a plastic one though, because climate change is real. The rest of the trailer follows the trend of a voiceover spouting important information between shots of action scenes.

Castlevania Season 1 was a pleasant surprise. Though it only lasted four episodes, it went into the back story of why Dracula hates the human race while showing the viewer a world that lives in fear due to their impending doom. The characters were fun and likeable, which is always good. Though we didn’t get to see Dracula unleashing his revenge, its set up can allow Season 2 to focus entirely on the battle against Dracula. All in all, Season 1 was a great set up and even if you haven’t played any of the games like I haven’t, the show is easy to understand and introduces all of the key players and story beats with ease.

Castlevania Season 2 will be launching on October 26, 2018, on Netflix. It will consist of eight episodes, which is double the amount of the original. Even if you are not a fan of the games, I would highly recommend checking this show out. It’s fun and bloody. Those two aspects are key ingredients to having a good time.

I am an absolute horror fanatic and dad joke connoisseur. I enjoy anything and everything that tries to scare me. My favourite games are Silent 2 & 3, Dead Space 2, Bloodborne and anything by Nintendo. I need some bright colours to mix up the darker palette.
